Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Directr (“we”, “us”) for using directr.so and the Directr editor (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.
1. Who can use Directr
You must be at least 13 years old to use Directr, and at least 18 (or the age of majority where you live) to buy a subscription. If you use Directr for a business, you confirm you can accept these terms for it.
2. Your account
Keep your sign-in details safe; you’re responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at wesley@directr.so if you think someone else is using it. You can delete your account at any time from your profile.
3. Your videos stay yours
You keep all rights to the videos you upload and the edits Directr makes from them. You give us permission to store, process and transform your videos only to run the Service for you: transcribing them, letting the AI see frames and the transcript, rendering your edits and showing them back to you. We don’t sell your videos or use them to advertise.
You must have the rights to everything you upload, including music, footage and anyone who appears in it.
4. What you can’t do
- Upload anything illegal, or anything that sexualises minors, promotes violence or harassment, or infringes someone else’s rights.
- Use Directr to make deceptive content that impersonates real people without their consent.
- Try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the Service, get around its limits, or access other people’s data.
- Resell or share access to your account.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
5. Free try and Pro
A free account includes one video upload and one edit. Pro costs $9 per month (plus any applicable taxes) and includes unlimited videos and edits within fair-use daily limits that keep the Service running for everyone.
Payments are handled by our payment provider, Polar, which acts as the merchant of record. Pro renews every month until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your profile (“Manage subscription”); you keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Payments aren’t refundable except where the law requires, but if something went wrong, email us and we’ll make it right. We may change prices with notice before your next renewal.
6. AI edits
Directr uses AI to understand your videos and make edits. AI can make mistakes: captions can mishear words and edits may not match what you meant. Review your edits before you post them; you’re responsible for what you publish.
7. Storage
Uploads and edits are kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically, so download anything you want to keep. Uploads from visitors without an account are deleted after 2 days.
8. The Service “as is”
We work hard to keep Directr fast and reliable, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We may change, pause or stop features.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Directr isn’t liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before it arose (or $10 if you haven’t paid anything).
10. Ending things
You can stop using Directr and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Sections 3, 8 and 9 continue to apply after your account ends.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you on the site or by email before it takes effect. Using the Service after that means you accept the new terms.
